Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey seeks a Registrar to gather and enter patient demographic information into the hospital information system, verify benefits, obtain required authorization, and collect co-pays, deductibles, and deposits. The role acts as the first point of contact, delivering excellent customer service and accurate registrations.

Responsibilities include obtaining insurance cards, signatures, and processing paperwork, while coordinating with patient accounting and insurance

Qualifications

• 1 year customer service in a professional setting.
• Medical office or admittance experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle potentially stressful situations and multiple tasks.
• Basic typing/computer/word processing skills.
• Epic system experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter demographic, financial, insurance and clinical information into the system.
• Obtain signatures on required documents and process paperwork.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles and deposits; resolve billing issues with involved parties.
• Provide referrals and payment options for financial assistance.
• Support office operations including telephones, scheduling, typing, filing.
