Job summary

UTHealth Houston's Greens Multispecialty Clinic is hiring a Full-Time Patient Access Representative to help patients navigate the front desk, verify insurance eligibility, ensure medical necessity, and post payments accurately. The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong customer service, and experience with electronic medical records (EMR), with Epic familiarity a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in a hospital/medical business office setting.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred; Epic experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor.
• Enters information into the computer system with a high degree of accuracy.
• May schedule patient appointments and enter required information in the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
• Explains required forms to patient or guarantor and obtains necessary signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by obtaining necessary data and signatures.
• Posts payments in the system and generates patient receipts.
• Communicates with physicians, care management, departments, staff, insurers, and patients professionally.
• Completes thorough and accurate documentation.
