Job summary

Medical Clinic of Houston, L.L.P. is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients, verify insurance, collect payments and enter demographics accurately.

You will check in and out patients, balance cash, and coordinate with the Business Office to resolve outstanding balances. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least one year of medical office experience, with strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and basic math abilities.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of medical office/registration/collections experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to handle problems with multiple variables in standard situations.
• Professional maturity, responsibility, dependability, flexibility and organization.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
• Demonstrate knowledge of customer service principles and expectations.
• Check for prior balances/payment history and collect co-pays/deductibles/co-insurance.
• Collaborate with Business Office to collect old balances and with physician staff when benefits are not accepted.
• Perform insurance verification.
• Calculate patient payments according to benefits.
• Post payments to patient accounts accurately and timely.
• Balance cash draw daily.
