Job summary

Fair Haven Community Health Care in New Haven, CT seeks a Pre-Registration Specialist to register patients accurately before visits, verify demographics and insurance, and ensure clean data for billing. You will handle registration 1–7 days prior to appointments and assist at the front desk as needed.

Ideal candidates are bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent communication and customer service skills, and are able to work in a team while upholding HIPAA policies across FHCHC locations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required, with experience in medical billing.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately prior to visits, ensuring demographic and insurance data is complete.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect required information for reporting.
• Contact patients to obtain missing information and confirm upcoming appointments.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and adhere to privacy policies; provide coverage as needed.
