Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Pre-Access Specialist in Louisville, KY to coordinate patient orders from physician offices and internal departments. The role ensures accuracy of orders, manages multiple system applications, and supports efficient patient encounters in a high-volume environment.

The position requires strong PC skills, typing speed, and familiarity with medical terminology. Experience in patient access is preferred; HIPAA compliance and customer service excellence are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• PC literacy; must be able to type 30 wpm with 95% accuracy.
• At least one year of patient access experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages all orders received by fax, physician EMR or other sources and scans into the hospital EMR.
• Indexes orders accurately; review physician signature, test/procedure, date and diagnosis for accuracy.
• Answers and responds to external and internal phone calls in a timely manner.
• Checks and responds to emails promptly and professionally; meets productivity standards.
• Transmits all patient documents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintains an organized and efficient work area.
