Job summary

UofL Health, Inc. seeks a Pre-Access Specialist to coordinate orders from physician offices and internal departments. You will verify accuracy, signatures, and scheduling details, and index orders into the EMR, delivering excellent service to internal and external customers.

This role requires 30 wpm typing, PC literacy, and EMR/ICD-10 familiarity; prior patient access experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• PC literacy; must be able to type 30 wpm with 95% accuracy.
• At least one year of patient access experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate orders received from physician offices and internal departments; ensure accurate data entry and indexing into the EMR.
• Review orders for accuracy: physician signature, test/procedure, date, and diagnosis.
• Answer and respond to external and internal calls in a timely, professional manner.
• Maintain organized work area and transmit patient documents promptly.
• Comply with HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
