Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a capable Scheduling Supervisor for the Patient Access Center. The role oversees daily PAC activities, staffing, and workflow optimization to ensure efficient appointment scheduling and patient service.

Responsibilities include onboarding, staff evaluations, and coordination with clinics. The position requires a degree in a related field and healthcare scheduling experience, with a signing bonus potential discussed during interviews.

Qualifications

• 1+ year supervisory experience in a health care environment or 2+ years in scheduling services.
• Progressive management experience or demonstrated office management skills.
• Willingness to perform holiday/weekend shifts and after-hours coverage.
• Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of third-party payor and managed care requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities for the Patient Access Center, including scheduling staff and maintaining work queues.
• Evaluate workload, distribute work, ensure staff coverage, and manage performance standards.
• Serve as liaison with clinics and departments to improve communication and processes.
• Supervise PAC personnel, including onboarding, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Handle scheduling of patients, collect demographics, insurance data, and patient liabilities.
• Assist in hiring processes and participate in recruitment with HR.
