Job summary

Emerus Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Manager to lead all daily patient access operations, oversee medical records management, and supervise patient access staff.

You will coordinate with the dietician on nutrition services and ensure EMTALA, HIPAA and regulatory compliance across site registrations. Strong leadership, 5+ years in patient registration and insurance verification, and proficiency with EMR and MS Office are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• A four-year degree in business or healthcare highly preferred.
• Minimum five years patient registration and insurance verification experience in a health care setting is required.
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience in health care setting is required; indirect leadership may count.
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance plans (PPO, POS, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; familiarity with EMR.
• Excellent customer service; fluent English; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily patient access operations and site-specific medical records management.
• Oversee registration quality, productivity and customer service.
• Ensure accuracy of daily registrations and data reporting for quality measures.
• Manage payments collection and cash handling; weekly deposits.
• Schedule and payroll management to fit budget and FTEs.
• Coordinate with the registered dietician on nutrition services.
• Supervise and train patient access staff; enforce policies.
• Collaborate with regional and corporate teams on projects.
