Job summary

Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group seeks a Patient Access Manager to lead the department handling registration, financial counseling, insurance verification, and related front-end operations. The role oversees multiple sites within the Medical Group and ensures efficient patient flow.

The ideal candidate has a background in hospital admitting services, strong payer knowledge, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with patients, physicians, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Accounting preferred.
• Three to five years experience as a supervisor/manager in admitting areas of an acute care facility or Medical Group preferred.
• Understanding of third party payer principles and COBRA laws; strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer services experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, direction, and administration for the Patient Access department.
• Oversees registration, information desk, financial counseling, cashier processes, insurance verification, and PBX operations.
• Ensures effective communication with patients, physicians, staff, and administration.
