Baptist Health South Florida is seeking an experienced Patient Access Operations Supervisor to oversee daily departmental operations, guiding staff and coordinating patient flow across multiple service lines. The role emphasizes service excellence, regulatory knowledge, and effective communication with patients, staff, and leadership.

The candidate will bring strong supervisory experience in healthcare, expertise in insurance benefits and authorizations, and proficiency with Patient Access

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Healthcare required with 3+ years in a Supervisory/Lead role in Patient Access, with knowledge of insurance benefits, collections, and authorizations/pre-certifications.
• In lieu of an Associate’s Degree, 4+ years’ supervisory/lead experience in Patient Access or healthcare with knowledge of insurance benefits, collections, and authorizations/pre-certifications.
• CHAA certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal & written), and customer service skills required.
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to understand and implement performance improvement by collecting data, analyzing data, identifying processes, and implementing changes.
• Ability to multi-task in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Proficient using all Patient Access applications and Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of medical necessity criteria, ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA and related healthcare regulations.
• Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily departmental operations and address employee, patient, and organizational needs while maintaining strong relationships within Baptist Health South Florida.
• Serve as a cross-functional leader to manage patient flow across multiple service lines, with effective staff management and prioritization of work assignments.
