MLHS is seeking a Patient Access Specialist I to deliver high-quality customer service by assisting patients, physicians, and staff with prompt and courteous communication. The role ensures accurate registration and admission for all patients and coordinates scheduling across ambulatory, acute, and specialty departments.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Requires at least 2 years of post-secondary healthcare-related training or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience working with the general public, preferably in healthcare.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work in a team setting and stay organized.
• Proficient with Word, Internet, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments with appropriate providers.
• Complete the appointment process per MLHS policies.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Provide monthly scheduling reports as requested.
• Register patients at time of visit and assist with pre-registration.
