Job summary

Danbury Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Patient Access professional to facilitate a smooth, one-touch registration and scheduling experience for patients. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, and provide service estimates while ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA and EMTALA rules.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, assisting with registrations, and processing payments. Weekend, evening, and holiday shifts may apply as part of a rotating schedule to support hospital

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required with minimum 2 years job-related experience.
• Associate degree with 6 months job-related experience preferred.
• Minimum experience of 1 year preferred in a related role.
• Basic MS Word & MS Excel. Customer Service and organizational skills.
• NAHAM certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and staff promptly and professionally; check in and direct as needed.
• Respond to calls; provide information; support scheduling and reduce wait times.
• Search for patient in EMR using EMPI procedures to ensure accurate ID.
• Schedule appointments per protocols in scheduling systems and EMRs.
• Enter demographic and financial information to aid payment collection.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain payor requirements; obtain authorizations when needed.
