Job summary

Northwell Health in Danbury, CT is seeking a part-time Patient Access Clerk to streamline registration, scheduling, and insurance verification. Four 8-hour shifts with variable start times, and weekend rotations (Saturday/Sunday) are included.

You will greet patients, verify demographics, collect payments, and support accurate EMPI records. Responsibilities include verifying eligibility, scheduling services, and providing cost estimates while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required with 2 years related experience.
• Associate degree preferred; NAHAM certification within one year of hire is desirable.
• Basic MS Word and Excel skills; strong customer service and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and staff promptly and professionally and check them in.
• Assist with scheduling, directing patients, and managing appointment location and status.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect applicable patient liability.
• Provide estimates for services and communicate payment responsibilities.
• Enter demographic and financial information for accurate patient records.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and Patient Bill of Rights.
