Job summary

The Children's National Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Manager to oversee the 24/7 department operations across SZ Campus, United Medical Center, and off-site locations. You will supervise hiring, training, evaluating, and day-to-day management of the Patient Access team including Admissions, ED, Lab and Radiology Registration and Scheduling, and Financial Counseling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 5 years of work experience is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of physician, hospital-based billing and scheduling systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
• Ability to supervise, counsel, train and develop staff; proficient in Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• Manage the 24/7 Patient Access Department operations.
• Supervise hiring, training, evaluating and day-to-day management of staff.
• Coordinate admissions, ED, laboratory and radiology registration and scheduling, and financial counseling.
• Focus on customer service, patient satisfaction, staff development and fiscal goals.
• Assist in the financial management and quality assurance activities.
• Rotate call, weekend and shift coverage; float between locations as needed.
