Qualifications

• Formal education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in customer service or general office support preferred.
• Experience in Registration, Insurance Verification/Pre-Certification, Financial counseling, Patient Accounts a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients in person at workstation or bedside to obtain information and navigate registration.
• Communicates with patients and families; explains insurance policies and benefits.
• Ensures brochures/registration documents are presented, explained, and completed accurately; assigns insurance plans and generates patient estimates.
• Collects patient co-payments, co-insurances, and deductibles; identifies patients without insurance and provides financial assistance information.
• Refers to patient financial advocates when appropriate and maintains professional presence of Summa Health.
