Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a detail‑oriented Patient Access Specialist to provide day‑to‑day support for registration teams across Elkins Park and Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia outpatient locations.

You will train staff, ensure accurate entry of patient demographics and insurance data, and uphold service standards to create a positive patient experience. Strong communication and familiarity with EPIC/Cerner are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of patient registration experience.
• Previous experience in a physician’s office or hospital registration setting strongly preferred.
• HFMA Certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day support to Patient Access Representatives and acts as a subject matter expert.
• Ensures staff enter complete and accurate orders, demographic and insurance information including authorizations and referrals.
• Trains staff on workflows, coach and provide feedback to improve quality and efficiency.
• Ensure staff comply with departmental protocols and collect out-of-pocket liabilities from patients.
• Backfills for staff during meal breaks, PTO/ETO or unscheduled absences as needed.
• Demonstrates professional demeanor and fosters positive interactions with patients, families and colleagues.
