Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support outpatient registration and ED flows. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, and ensure referrals and authorizations are on file, while handling patient inquiries with care.

Experience in hospital or physician practice registration and comfort with EPIC/Cerner systems is preferred. This role features day/night shifts and a commitment to accuracy and patient service excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Three years of ED patient registration or related healthcare front-desk experience.
• Experience with hospital registration and insurance verification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, families and staff in a courteous, professional manner.
• Gather accurate demographic information to identify Jefferson patients.
• Request photo ID and insurance cards; scan copies for records.
• Enter orders and confirm medical necessity for outpatient visits.
• Interview patients to complete MSPQ questionnaire for Medicare patients.
• Verify insurance coverage using EPIC, Cerner or payer portals; collect out-of-pocket liability.
