Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Access Team Lead to uphold patients-first service, coordinate scheduling across departments, and ensure accurate data entry in Epic. You will mentor staff and support Operations Coordinator to maintain high standards of patient access and service quality.

Two years in customer service or patient relations, strong communication, problem solving, and ability to multi-task are essential; healthcare experience and Epic familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years experience in customer service or patient relations.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to type 40 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service to patients, establishing a positive first impression.
• Responds to questions and concerns and escalates when needed.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Interacts with hospital departments and physicians to schedule patients through NMHC systems.
• Performs pre-authorization tasks and communicates options if appointments fail.
• Supports scheduling staff with accurate handoffs and notes in Epic.
