Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc in Turnersville, NJ is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor to provide day-to-day support to Patient Access Representatives. You will act as a subject matter and technical expert, ensuring staff offer a positive patient experience and accurate registration of demographics, insurance information including authorizations, referrals, and medical necessity.

You will train staff and monitor performance, backfilling as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of patient registration experience.
• Experience in a physician’s office or hospital registration setting preferred.
• HFMA certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc.
• Ensures timely, efficient, and accurate registration processes are followed by staff.
• Keeps current on insurance tip sheets and workflow updates.
• Ensures regulatory and compliance requirements are met; complies with departmental and institutional protocols.
• Distributes work assignments daily.
• QA’s a sample of registrations to ensure accuracy and provide feedback.
• Backfills for staff during meal breaks; covers PTO/ETO or absences as needed.
• Demonstrates professionalism with patients and staff; fosters positive interactions.
• Trains new hires to accurately record orders, demographics and insurance information, providing real-time coaching.
• Achieves individual and team performance metrics.
• Interacts with a diverse patient base while maintaining door-to-doctor times.
• Rotates assignments across Patient Access locations.
