Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an Intake Specialist to support clinical operations with heavy telephone intake, patient registration, and appointment scheduling. You will verify authorizations and insurance coverage for new patients and maintain accurate patient accounts.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will handle front-desk duties, manage cash and co-pays, and assist with coverage across sites as needed. Prior experience in medical office settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of office experience required.
• Typing 40 wpm and handling high-volume telephones.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy telephone intake and patient registration.
• Book appointments and collect patient data, insurance cards, and identification.
• Verify authorizations and insurance coverage for new and existing patients.
