Emerus, a leader in small-format hospitals, is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to serve as a liaison between patients, payers and hospital teams in Rockwall, Texas. You will verify demographic and insurance information, secure payments, and help maximize hospital reimbursement while delivering courteous service.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 2 years in patient registration and insurance verification; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus in certain markets.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years in patient registration and insurance verification.
• Experience with EMTALA, HIPAA in hospital settings preferred.
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid is helpful.
• Fluent in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred in El Paso market.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA and hospital regulations applicable to Admissions and Medical Records handling.
• Provide excellent customer service and build quality relationships with customers.
• Verify, enter and maintain complete demographic information to aid revenue cycle processing.
• Verify insurance benefits for all plans and obtain authorizations as required by plans.
• Answer phone calls professionally, record messages and communicate with medical staff.
