Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a part-time Patient Access professional to perform outpatient and inpatient registration and insurance verification, collect payments, and ensure patients meet financial requirements including Medicare pre-certifications and referrals.

The role also provides information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices, and supports performance improvement through data reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Insurance verification with ability to explain benefits.
• Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding.

Responsibilities

• Perform outpatient and inpatient registration and insurance verification.
• Collect patient financial liability payments.
• Ensure patients meet financial requirements including Medicare, payer pre-certifications & referrals.
• Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices.
• Support data analysis and reporting related to patient access operations.
