Trinity Health Corp. in Mason City, IA seeks a patient access specialist to perform outpatient and inpatient registration, verify insurance, and collect patient liabilities at check-in.

You will enter demographic and clinical information into the patient accounting system, obtain physician orders, and prepare ID cards and forms for various departments. The role requires knowledge of medical terminology and coding, ability to explain benefits, and HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA within one year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer hospital registration or insurance verification experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding required.
• Ability to explain insurance benefits.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA within one year of hire.

Responsabilités

• Validate and enter demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information into the patient accounting system by interviewing patients/family.
• Register in inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, ED, and other clinical settings.
• Prepare patient estimates and collect liabilities at check-in.
• Obtain physician orders and prepare IDs and consent forms.
• Audit and record patients' valuables when needed.
