AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a patient access professional to perform Medicare compliance reviews, verify eligibility, collect payments, and coordinate with billing and clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, HIPAA compliance, and accurate data entry. You will handle pre-authorizations, schedule appointments, and assist patients and insurance providers with questions while maintaining confidentiality and empathy.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient access or revenue cycle in healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Proficient with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and NOC notices as needed.
• Create estimates for patient financial responsibility and collect payments.
• Coordinate with utilization management staff for pre-authorization issues.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations within required timeframes.
• Register patients and ensure accurate demographic information.
• Provide coverage for PBX and cashiering duties as needed.
• Document conversations with patients and payers, including payer decisions and payment arrangements.
• Attend department meetings and promote positive dialogue within the team.
