Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a patient access specialist to support Medicare compliance, register patients, and collect insurance information. You will coordinate with care teams and help ensure accurate billing while delivering strong customer service.

Ideal candidates have high school education, HIPAA knowledge, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities. This role includes night/weekend shifts and benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Experience in customer service or front-desk roles.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and billing basics.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and process ABNs as needed.
• Estimate patient financial responsibility and arrange payments.
• Coordinate pre-authorizations with utilization management.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; obtain pre-auths.
• Register patients and collect demographic and insurance data.
• Maintain coverage of assigned areas during shifts; relay coverage.
• Communicate between clinical, ancillary, and access teams.
• Deliver excellent customer service and document calls.
• Cover PBX; handle calls and transfers; assist cashiering.
