Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Patient Access Representative II to interact with patients via phone or in person, handling moderately complex front office operations in a hospital setting. The role may require travel to on- and off-campus locations and offers a defined career ladder based on performance.

The position emphasizes patient-centered service, compassion, and teamwork within UT Southwestern operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months’ experience as Patient Access Representative I or CSA I (internal); 6 months in EPIC environment for external applicants.
• External applicants: 6 months’ experience in entry-level registration in an EPIC environment.

Responsibilities

• Pre-register/register patients for scheduled/unscheduled services in hospital-based areas.
• Interview patients to obtain demographic/insurance information and verify details.
• Obtain copies of identification and insurance cards; document information in registration system.
• Ensure accurate patient data, insurance verification, and financial obligations. Collect co-pays/deductibles as applicable.
• Provide excellent customer service and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
