Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Patient Access Representative II to directly interact with patients by phone and in person, performing moderately complex front office operations in a hospital setting. You will maintain a patient-centered attitude with compassion and empathy, working as part of a dedicated team to support UT Southwestern operations.

Qualifications

• 6 months' experience as a Patient Access Representative I or 6 months' experience as a CSA I
• External Applicants: 6 months' experience in entry-level registration in an EPIC environment
• 2 years experience in a customer service setting
• 3 years experience in a clinical/medical office setting
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Pre-register/Register patients for scheduled/unscheduled services and admissions across hospital areas
• Interview patients or representatives to obtain demographic/insurance information
• Obtain IDs and insurance cards as needed
• Document information in the registration system per standards
• Deliver patient information and consent forms accurately and promptly
• Coordinate insurance verification for patient services
• Collect co-payments, deductibles, and balances per policy
• Greet and assist patients and visitors and maintain waiting area organization
