Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients in our ambulatory clinics. You will verify insurance, enter data into the registration system, and manage appointment scheduling with accuracy and courtesy.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong customer service, proficient data entry, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be able to work weekends/holidays.
• Demonstrated experience using office equipment and multi-line telephone system.
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients in the ambulatory clinics.
• Enter patient data into the registration system and verify insurance and/or third party coverage.
• Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments.
• Perform general clerical and reception duties.
