Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, Colorado is hiring for a Guest Services/Patient Access role. You will welcome patients, collect and verify demographics and insurance data, register for services, and support the financial aspects of care with accuracy and empathy.

You will collaborate with clinical and support teams to ensure smooth check-in, timely discharge, and positive patient experiences while promoting the safety and integrity of information and processes.

Qualifications

• Associate and/or higher-level education or completed coursework in health services administration or related medical/business field.
• High School Grad or Equiv required.
• Associate's Degree in Health Services Administration or related field preferred.
• 1+ year customer services and medical office experience preferred.
• Prior collections experience preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming phone calls, responds to inquiries, and directs calls appropriately.
• Welcomes patients; updates, verifies, and enters patient demographics, insurance, and billing information.
• Registers patients for services, ensures accuracy, and processes forms into appropriate systems.
• Ensures all financial assessments, eligibility, and benefits memos are clear, updated, and thorough to support post-care financial needs.
• Maintains a working relationship with clinical partners to ensure open communication between clinical, ancillary, and patient access departments, enhancing patient experiences.
• Provides timely and continual coverage of assigned work area to offer prompt patient service and availability for all clinical partners’ registration needs.
• Promotes a safe work environment. Provides education to patients regarding test locations, patient portal use, and follow-up actions.
• Requests co-pays and/or outstanding balance at the time of check-in respectfully but firmly.
