Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Access professional to support scheduling, preregistration, and financial clearance. You will verify demographics, confirm insurance benefits, and communicate financial responsibilities to patients in a clear, compassionate manner.

You will also obtain authorizations or referrals, assist with billing data accuracy, and help maintain positive patient experiences while meeting productivity goals and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one - three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One previous year of related experience, preferably in medical/financial services or a customer-service environment.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and preregisters patients, validates demographics and benefits, ensuring accurate data for billing.
• Verifies insurance information with payors and follows up on authorizations or referrals.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, calculates estimates, and collects liabilities during entry and posting processes.
