Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Access professional responsible for scheduling, preregistration, and financial clearance. You will verify insurance, identify patient financial responsibilities, and communicate clearly with patients and providers to explain costs and processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• One year of related experience preferred in medical or financial services settings.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and preregisters patients, verifies demographics and benefits, and ensures correct data for billing.
• Verifies insurance information with payors and coordinates with physicians, case management, and payors on authorizations/deficiencies.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, estimates costs, and posts payments in the ADT system while escalating if needed.
• Delivers a positive patient experience and maintains productive relationships with patients, AHN staff, and external partners.
• Maintains productivity standards and adheres to policies; participates in mandatory training.
