Responsibilities

• Creates the initial electronic health record that forms the patient medical record foundation.
• Checks in and registers patients; verifies demographic, guarantor, and insurance info; collects co-pays.
• Knows plans Advocate Health contracts with and discusses financial responsibility with patients.
• Follows HIPAA, EMTALA, Notice of Privacy Practices and other regulations; obtains signatures as required.
• Schedules appointments and coordinates cancellations, reschedules, and recalls.
• Greet patients, answer calls, and provide information and assistance including transportation and interpreter needs.
• Maintains professional environment with exemplary customer service.
• Monitors electronic health record work queues per department process.
