Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an organized patient access/registration staff member to support the hospital's intake process. You will confirm patient demographics, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and ensure accurate data entry in EPIC EMR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in medical front-desk/registration is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality is essential.
• Familiarity with insurance verification and payment collection concepts.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify demographic, guarantor, and insurance information.
• Explain co-pays and out-of-pocket responsibilities; collect payments.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA; discuss financial obligations with patients.
• Help schedule appointments and manage provider workflow; assist with test prep instructions.
• Provide excellent customer service; assist patients with directions, transportation, and interpreter services.
• Monitor electronic health record work queues and follow the department’s process.
