Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Access professional to handle scheduling, pre-registration, financial clearance, and authorization tasks. You will communicate clearly with patients and families, estimate financial responsibilities, and help ensure timely bill submission while upholding regulatory requirements.

In this role you will support external customers, coordinate with physicians and payors, and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of related experience in medical, financial services, or customer service settings.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.

Responsibilities

• Conducts scheduling and preregistration functions and verifies demographics and benefits.
• Verifies insurance information and handles authorization/referral requirements.
• Calculates estimates, collects liabilities, and posts payments in the ADT system.
• Delivers positive patient experience and maintains relationships with patients and providers.
• Maintains productivity and adheres to organizational policies and training requirements.
• Communicates barriers or issues to team lead and assists in resolution.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
