You will verify insurance coverage, determine authorization needs, and assist in collecting balances while maintaining a positive patient experience within AHN policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two previous years of related experience, preferably in medical/financial services or a demanding customer service environment.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduling and preregistration functions and verifies demographic data and benefits to ensure accurate bill submission.
• Verifies insurance information via payor contacts or electronic systems and communicates requirements for authorization/referral to physicians and payors.
• Calculates patient financial responsibilities, estimates liabilities, and processes payments; reconciles daily activities in the ADT system.
