Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support scheduling, preregistration, and financial clearance processes. The role requires accurately identifying payor requirements, collecting patient liabilities, and maintaining positive interactions with patients and AHN staff.

You will verify insurance details, obtain necessary authorizations/referrals, and ensure accurate data in the system while adhering to privacy and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months related experience or training preferred.
• 1 year related experience in medical or financial services beneficial.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduling, preregistration, and validates patient demographics.
• Verifies insurance information with payors and documents authorizations/referrals.
• Calculates patient financial responsibilities and collects liabilities in ADT system.
• Delivers positive patient experience and maintains relationships with patients, staff, and external contacts.
• Keeps productivity standards and suggests efficiency improvements.
• Follows AHN policies and completes mandatory trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
