Qualifications

• At least 1 year physician practice experience.
• On-site training of at least one week provided.
• Experience in a medical office and scheduling systems preferred.
• IDX or other practice management system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in person or by phone and update insurance/demographics.
• Verify insurance coverage prior to visits when needed.
• Coordinate patient arrival with staff and ensure medical records are ready.
• Process HIPAA paperwork and other forms as required.
• Collect co-pays and provide receipts per cash-control processes.
• May schedule follow-up appointments and assist with records requests.
• May perform simple charge entry or deposit preparation; duties mutually exclusive.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments; handle PHI in compliance with laws.
