UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Patient Access Representative to provide front-office, patient-facing support at our Glendale location. The role involves greeting patients, collecting demographics, verifying insurance, and processing payments in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Primary responsibilities include coordinating with providers, entering data in real-time, and handling referrals and authorizations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service in a hospital, office setting, or phone support role.
• Ability to work Thursday from 12:00pm - 6:00pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00am - 6:00pm.
• Must be 18 years of age OR older.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients and families to complete the registration process.
• Utilizes computer systems to enter or verify patient data in real time.
• Gathers clinical information and processes referrals, pre-certifications, and authorizations.
• Verifies insurance coverage and creates price estimates.
• Collects patient co-pays and discusses financial obligations.
• Identifies outstanding balances and collects amounts due.
• Schedules appointments and coordinates with provider offices.
• Responds to patient inquiries with compassion and respect.
• Generates and analyzes patient data reports for follow-up.
