Job summary

St. Peter's Health Partners in Latham, NY is seeking a Patient Access Concierge for the Outpatient Vascular Surgery Office.

This full-time, day-shift role handles pre-registration, appointment and surgery scheduling, and collects demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information. You will enter patient data into hospital systems, provide payment estimates, guide patients on payment options, and escalate issues to the Lead as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; an associate degree is preferred.
• 1–3 years experience in hospital/clinic, insurance, or healthcare financial services.
• Knowledge of insurance programs, billing, and government programs is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and core Microsoft tools is a plus.
• Strong communication, data entry, and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification and insurance coverage.
• Accepts point of service payments.
• Enters patient information into hospital systems accurately.
• Directs questions about financial liability to appropriate resources.
• Processes documents to obtain insurance information.
• Provides payment estimates for out-of-pocket costs.
• Educates patients on registration kiosks or online systems.
• Escalates routine issues to Lead Patient Access Concierge.
