Job summary

St. Peter's Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist (PAS) to be the first point of contact for patients at the Regional Medical Center and Medical Group.

The PAS handles registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and authorizations, while collecting accurate demographic and financial information to support timely reimbursement and a positive patient experience. The role requires strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with potential day shift

Qualifications

• 1-2 years hospital admissions or provider’s office experience preferred.
• Experience in customer service or scheduling in healthcare preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone.
• Schedule appointments and manage referrals/authorizations.
• Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and payment information.
• Review schedules to maintain accurate, timely patient flow.
• Use electronic systems to document and update patient records.
• Provide patients with visit instructions and answer basic questions.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and care teams.
