Job summary

Mercy Springfield is seeking a Patient Access Representative who will be the first point of contact for patients, greeting them with compassion and guiding them through registration and scheduling while upholding Mercy service standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of clerical and customer service experience, familiarity with medical terminology and insurance plans, high school diploma, strong oral and written communication, and excellent telephone etiquette to coordinate with patients,

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of clerical and customer service experience preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, excellent telephone etiquette required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and handle check-in/check-out at registration.
• Explain billing and insurance processes and gather necessary information.
• Coordinate with physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff to support patient flow.
• Maintain accuracy and privacy of patient information in line with Mercy standards.
