The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia UVA Health is seeking an outpatient clinic clerk in Warrenton, VA. The role schedules patients, verifies eligibility, and coordinates pre-authorizations with physician offices and the business office.

Required are a high school diploma, 1 year clerical experience in a medical setting, and knowledge of medical terminology plus insurance awareness. Windows and Microsoft Office proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1 year of clerical experience in medical office setting required.
• Licensure: None
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and strong communication skills are required.
• Background in insurance knowledge is required for certain tasks.

Responsabilités

• Schedules and registers patients for the outpatient clinic.
• Verifies eligibility for patients and ensures pre-authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications are obtained.
• Collaborates with physician offices, Utilization Review and Business Office Departments.
• Perform other job-related duties as directed by the Supervisor.
