Cone Health Medical Group is seeking an energetic Patient Access Advocate II to support front office operations in a clinical setting. You will be the expert liaison for patients and clinic relations, providing exemplary customer service, verifying insurance, and managing referrals and scheduling.

The role emphasizes accurate registration, adherence to policies, and training of new staff to ensure success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a certified medical office training course preferred.
• 1 year clerical experience in medical setting; proficient in EPIC Cadence/Prelude; customer service experience in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients through the registration process and verify demographics and insurance information for accurate billing.
• Assist new employees with registration workflows.
• Collect and post co-pays, process payments, and review records for bad debt.
• Adhere to No Surprises Act requirements and maintain accurate cash drawer; prepare daily deposits.
• Schedule appointments and manage referrals; coordinate with pre-certification as needed.
• Handle inquiries via phone, voicemail, and email; coordinate follow-up as needed.
• Deescalate patient situations and train new staff on clerical support tasks.
