Job summary

AVALA is seeking a Patient Access Representative to collect accurate patient demographics and insurance information during interviews, both in person and by phone. The role handles registration, signatures for treatment, ABN, and MSP forms, and performs MSP questionnaire completion.

The incumbent will verify benefits, collect co-pays, and coordinate with physician offices for authorizations. Responsibilities include answering high-volume calls, explaining forms, conducting pre-registration

Qualifications

• One or more years of medical office experience.
• Able to handle heavy phone volumes and route calls to the appropriate department.

Responsibilities

• Registers and verifies patient demographics and insurance information.
• Explains required forms (Authorization for Treatment, ABN, MSP questionnaire) and obtains signatures.
• Performs pre-registration contact to verify demographic and insurance data.
• Verifies insurance coverage and benefits, and collects estimated balances.
• Explains benefits to patients and collects monies due at time of service.
• Balances daily receipts and reconciles cash, checks, and cards.
• Maintains knowledge of patient accounting functions and notifies staff of issues.
• Acts as back up to concierge and performs other duties as assigned.
