BJC HealthCare is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage patient entry at our facilities. You will register patients, verify insurance, collect balances when applicable, and provide clear preparation instructions for procedures.

This role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and regulatory compliance. Training is provided, with on-site work following a 2-week training period and 5-6 weeks of hands-on practice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience not required, willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of insurance verification, HIPAA, and patient data handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for hospital visits and schedule accordingly.
• Verify demographics and insurance information to maximize reimbursements and accuracy.
• Explain financial responsibilities to patients and collect applicable payments.
• Maintain compliance with MSP, HIPAA, EMTALA and related regulations.
