Job summary

BJC Medical Group is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative in Saint Louis, Missouri, to be the first point of contact in the front office. You will handle patient check-ins, appointment scheduling, and basic financial records, ensuring smooth patient flow in a busy physician practice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of experience in a patient-facing role or medical office setting preferred.
• Experience handling patient communications and scheduling is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handles telephone calls from patients and staff; forwards calls requiring triage.
• Performs receptionist duties with close attention to detail and professionalism.
• Verifies health insurance information and educates patients on applicable regulations; collects payments and records data.
• Performs data entry of service charges, including diagnostic codes and charges for physician and clinic services.
• Coordinates information with Central Billing Office to ensure charges are captured and collected.
