Job summary

Ntmconline in Gainesville, Texas is seeking a full-time Patient Access/Admissions Clerk to support inpatient admissions and outpatient testing procedures. You will collect patient data, verify insurance, explain billing and rights, and maintain HIPAA compliance.

The role requires excellent communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to work in a busy hospital environment from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Prior medical office experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prefers 6 months experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to type accurately.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for hospital services and pre-admit as needed.
• Verify eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Interview patients or representatives to collect or confirm personal and insurance information.
• Explain billing processes, patient rights, and HIPAA; distribute literature.
• Collect copayments and forward to the Business Office.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional interactions with patients and families.
• Ensure documentation meets current standards and policies.
• Answer phones and route inquiries to the appropriate staff.
