Guidehouse is hiring a Hospital Admissions Representative in California to obtain demographic and financial information, verify insurance benefits and eligibility, and assign appropriate medical records and account numbers for accurate billing.

The role requires handling pre-certifications, communicating with patients and departments, and maintaining compliance with insurance rules while ensuring high-quality customer service. Training and shifts vary across the day to meet patient census.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 0-1 year experience in a medical setting or heavy customer service environment utilizing data entry skills, insurance or other online websites and various software applications.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association OR ability to obtain 90 days post hire.
• Ability to obtain AVADE training offered by MLK Community Hospital within 30 days from start date.

Responsibilities

• Obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information from patient interviews, physician offices and in-house departments.
• Obtain required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
• Enter data in computer and document all incomplete admissions/registrations; obtain pre-certification or authorization numbers.
• Notify patients or family of insurance coverage issues and required co-pays, deductibles or deposits; document in computer system.
• Review physician orders for completeness and ensure all information is listed.
• Complete Medicare Compliance and obtain ABN if necessary.
• Maintain multiple computer systems and provide excellent customer service at all times.
