Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Hospital Admissions Representative in California to verify demographics, insurance benefits, and eligibility. You will assign medical records and account numbers to ensure accurate billing information, while supporting a smooth patient intake process.

The role requires a high school diploma and 0-2 years in medical or customer service settings, with BLS certification or ability to obtain it, and AVADE training within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 0-2 year experience in a medical setting or heavy customer service environment utilizing data entry skills.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association OR ability to obtain 90 days post hire.
• Ability to obtain AVADE training offered by MLK Community Hospital within 30 days from start date.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify demographic and financial information from patients and referring sources.
• Obtain signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
• Enter data and document incomplete admissions/registrations; obtain pre-certification/authorization numbers.
• Notify patients and staff of insurance coverage issues and deposits needed; document in the system.
• Review physician orders for completeness and ensure required information is listed.
• Maintain compliance with Medicare/ABN requirements when applicable.
• Maintain multiple computer systems and provide high-quality customer service.
• Answer phone calls and assist callers per script; complete shift duties timely and accurately.
• Comply with safety regulations and company policies.
