Guidehouse is seeking a Hospital Admissions Representative in California to verify demographics, insurance benefits, and eligibility, and to assign the correct medical record and account number for accurate billing and clinical data.

The role involves performing pre-certifications, communicating insurance needs, and updating patient files. It requires strong accuracy and customer service, with full-time shifts including weekends and holidays. Training and benefits are offered by Guidehouse.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 0–1 year experience in a medical setting or heavy customer service environment using data entry skills and insurance information.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain AVADE training offered by MLK Community Hospital within 30 days from start date.

Responsabilités

• Obtain and verify demographic and financial information from patients, physician offices, and in-house departments.
• Obtain signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
• Perform required pre-certification, credit referral or deposit collection and document information in the system.
• Notify patients and providers of insurance coverage issues and payment requirements; update patient files.
• Review physician Orders for completeness and ensure all information is listed.
• Comply with Medicare/Compliance requirements and ABN when necessary.
• Maintain multiple computer systems and ensure accurate data entry.
• Provide excellent customer service and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor.
